Our standards

Reporting

Users can report a contact from within the app (chat menu → "Report"), which opens an email to us with that contact's security fingerprint, and can block them at the same time. You can also write directly to mendelatech@proton.me.

How we act

Messages are end-to-end encrypted and never pass through our systems, so we cannot scan or remove them. When we receive a report of CSAM or of a child at risk, we report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and/or the competent national authority or INHOPE hotline, preserve the information we were sent, and cooperate with law enforcement in accordance with applicable law.

Child safety contact

Our designated point of contact for child safety and CSAM prevention is the Mendelatech developer, reachable at mendelatech@proton.me.
